This wiki library is focused on landscape science.
It is primarily intended for building up an encyclopedia of knowledge.
It also enables you to simply brainstorming ideas or write short essays with contributors all over the world.
Types of wiki pages
As a basic principle, there are two types of wiki pages.
The first type is called 'GlossaryWiki' page because it is intended for specifying and
elaborating a term in a specific scientific context.
Furthermore, the names of these wiki pages are listed in a term list. From this list the names of 'glossary wiki' pages
can be selected as keywords.
In future, the term list will be used to define the system boundaries of landscape science.
The second type of wiki pages is called 'EssayWiki' page. This type is
is intended to provide additional information for a 'glossary page'. Therefore, this type of pages is not
associated with scientific context but with a 'GlossaryWiki' page.
We would recommend that you choose meaningful names for your wiki pages.
Create a new wiki page
There are two main ways to create a new page in your wiki library.
For creating a new wiki page you can go to the 'openLandscapes Wiki' page
and click "Create a new 'GlossaryWiki' page" or "Create a new 'EssayWiki' page"
and follow the instructions.
Another possibility is to change to the edit mode of an existing wiki page, and enclose
the name of the new page in double brackets on the edit form (within the wiki content field).
For example, type [[Landscape Ecology_(Landscape Science)]] to create a link
to the page named 'Landscape Ecology_(Landscape Science)'.
To create a link to a page and have the link display different text than the page name, type a pipe character (|)
after the page name, and then type the display text. For example, type [[Landscape Ecology_(Landscape Science)|Landscape Ecology]] to create the link
labeled 'Landscape Ecology' that points to the page named 'Landscape Ecology_(Landscape Science)'.
Save your page and then click the wiki page title.
Do not forget to click 'Create' for saving your page.
A wiki page name has to be unique.
